The sew-on version has a raw fabric backing without heat-activated adhesive.

Secure the patch by stitching around the embroidered outside edge.

Iron-On Patch — Adhesive Backing

The iron-on version has heat-activated adhesive applied to the back before shipping.

Iron-on patches work best on heat-safe materials such as cotton, denim, canvas, and similar fabrics. Always verify that your item can safely tolerate heat before application.

For clothing or gear that will be washed frequently or used heavily, we recommend adding several stitches around the outside edge after ironing for extra security.
