I’m not sure it gets more “old lady” than making doilies, but man I love doing it. I love the intricacy, the size of the fiber, the complexity, I love it all and I think it shows. I have entered in the large one (+30”!!!) and the pink one in both the county and state fairs. I won best in class, judge’s choice, and more! I am so proud of these. (Yup, that’s me in that photo.)
I call the large one my wedding mandala because it was the centerpiece on the guest table at my wedding. The photo you see with a bunch of doilies, well those were all made for my wedding. I used them as part of each tables centerpiece and then gave them away to all of the family that helped us make our day super special! It was a fun way for me to give a little back.
